First World Cup

The first world cup was in 1930 which was held in Montevideo in Uruguay .In the first world cup there are 13 teams participated,7 teams from South America 4 from Europe and 2 from North America.The First match was between France and Mexico which resulted 4-1 in favor of France .The first goal was scored by Lucien Laurent of France.The first world cup final was between Uruguay and Argentina in this Uruguay defeated Argentina by 4-2.The world cup was a big success because it was the new format even though some tournaments are occurred before this in Olympics and other competitions but this was the first pure football tournament so this was a big success.Then after every four year the tournament was conducted except in 1942 and 1946 because of World War 2.

4)Yashin(Legendary Goalie) award for the best goalkeeper.
